This is a great program to learn the philosophy, exercises and meditations of Spring Forest Qigong™. Plus this course is a prerequisite to the Level 2 training, where you learn the healing techniques, how to detect energy and help remove energy blockages in others.

Level II SFQ For Helping Others to Heal

You will learn to increase your own internal energy and to scan the body to find energy blockages, which are believed to be the root of sickness or disease in the body.

You’ll learn the healing techniques of “sword fingers” and “thunder palms” to treat pain, heal colds, improve blood pressure, etc.

You’ll learn to develop psychic energy and defend against negative energy as well as protect your energy from being drained or stolen.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of SFQ Level I (classroom or homestudy is acceptable).

This carefully crafted workshop simplifies the principles of how to help prevent diseases before they arise, the different forms of developing vitality, and identifying the obstacles to living well.

This inclusive workshop highlights the importance of what we do, think, feel, believe, and that everything matters, and we have choices about nourishing our health.

This workshop is open to those with no qigong experience as well as to seasoned practitioners.

Yiquan Qigong has its roots in both the healing and martial arts.  Yiquan training emphasizes mind-body integration, deep relaxation, and breath awareness to increase the body’s capacity to circulate and store Qi (or internal energy).  Regular practice leads to a profound sense of groundedness, mental clarity, and vitality.

This weekend workshop is appropriate to both beginners and experienced practitioners of Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, and related traditions  Participants will learn a very practical foundational set of qigong calisthenics.  Yiquan training will include seated and standing meditations, as well as a set of six traditional moving forms that develop dynamic structural integration and train the use of intention in posture and movement.  Interactive exercises that help explore and experience key principles will also be introduced.

Integrated throughout the training will be information on the science underlying the health benefits of Qigong, including cutting edge research related to the fascia/connective tissue, breathing, postural control, and cognition.

Peter Wayne, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Research Director of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine jointly based at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and founder and director of the Tree of Life Tai Chi Center in Boston, USA.  An internationally recognized practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi and Qigong, with more than 40 years of experience, Peter enjoys sharing his knowledge of the internal arts with all interested students.  He particularly enjoys drawing on the principles of Western Science to help elucidate the ancient principles of traditonal Asian healing Arts.
